Cumbria is easily accessible from Junctions 36-44 of the M6.
There are services from First Transpennine Express and Virgin to Kendal, Oxenholme, Windermere, Carlisle, Barrow and Penrith from Manchester Airport, London and Edinburgh and Glasgow. Connections from these stations are available through Northern Rail.
