Part of Mintfest 2011

This beautiful and charismatic production celebrates the music of the legendary French chanteuse, Edith Piaf whose name is now synonymous with French Cabaret of the 40s and 50s. Her life was the stuff of legend, but her dramatic rise from Parisian street urchin to star of international-renown was anything but ‘La Vie en rose’; it was punctuated with injury, suffering, drugs and loneliness.

Accompanied by Fiona Barrow on violin and Edward Jay on accordion, The ‘Little Sparrow’s’ lustrous tone and exquisite French accent are captured perfectly by singer Eve Loiseau, who will also capture your heart.

As well as a dramatic narrative thread the show includes all of Piaf's most famous and most loved songs including La Vie en Rose, Je ne regrette Rien, Autumn Leaves and many more.

Following the show, the Malt Room remains open and a DJ set from Fallback Productions will keep the festival going until late with a dose of funk fueled beats.
