Weather

Some people have asked us about what happens in case of bad weather. Of course to a certain degree, all outdoor events are at the mercy of the elements, but even if the forecast is bad, many years experience of working outdoors tells us not to rely on that. In the Lake District, particularly, the weather can settle just as quickly as it picks up, and can change in the space of a mile or two. So even if it’s horrible where you are, it may be glorious where the event is taking place.

Of course, we’re all keeping our fingers crossed for the big yellow ball in the sky, but, whatever the weather, we’re great believers in ‘The show must go on’ and whenever it possibly can, it most certainly will. Only in very extreme cases where the weather makes it too dangerous for audiences or artists would we take a decision to cancel, and only ever at the event itself (we have only lost one complete event in four years!). So, our best advice is pack your suncream and shades along with your poncho and come along anyway!
