Compered by Mike Hancock, with challenging and hilarious stand-up from award-winning British Asian comic Shazia Mirza, awesome acrobatics from Marcelo De Ramos and fantastic comedy animation from the Wright Stuff Puppet Company, plus live music and DJ beats to take you into the night.
Artists include:
Shazia Mirza
Shazia Mirza is a very funny award winning British Asian stand up Comedian from Birmingham. She works all over the world and has toured the US, Sweden, Denmark, France Holland and Germany. She has appeared on CBS 60 Minutes, NBC's Last Comic Standing, and Have I got News for You (BBC).
Shazia could have married a rich man and lived in a mansion on The Bishops Avenue, with servants, bidets, and horses. But instead she chose to drive up and down the country for as little as ten pounds, staying in dirty lurid bed and breakfasts trying to make people laugh. She thought of giving up, but no Muslim man wants to marry her, now that's she's dabbled in jokes and fingered a few white men on the 38 bus.
"Her laconic one-liners represent something quite unique in modern comedy." William Cook, The Guardian
Marcelo de Ramos
Marcelo de Ramos better known as Marcelo the Daredevil. He has an extremely dangerous job as a specialist stuntman and acrobat. Some of his stunts include diving through hoops of razor sharp knives, somersaulting backwards over up to 6 people, piercing spikes through his body including the mouth, jumping from a great height onto real broken glass, hammering nails and screw drivers into the nose, dislocating his neck and the list goes on. Compulsive viewing!
The Wright Stuff - Ruff Daddy (featuring Bar Mutha)
More drunk and Moody than Punch and Judy, this bad-ass double puppet act is strictly for adults only. Bad Mutha interrupts Ruff Daddy's unique take on world affairs to descend into domestic dysfunction. Painfully funny.
"Les Dawson meets John Prescott drunk in a kebab shop."
